Napier Bones was soon made redundant by others calculations and slide rules, which developed in 1620 by William Dughfred.



In 1614, John Napier of Scotland gave the concept of logarithms and in 1917, he invented a device for calculation. This device consisted 11 rods which were further divided into 9 diagonal parts.
